Judi Thames, Patient Triage Coordinator, is getting ready for the American Heart Association’s Wall Street Walk/Run. She and her sister Jasmin have joined the Columbia Neurosurgery Team and will walk for health and family.
“My late grandmother rebounded well from a stroke many years ago.” Says Thames, ” I have friends with high blood pressure and loved ones with congenital heart issues. If walking can help raise funds for research to help them beat the odds I am happy to do it.”
Judi, like a lot of us, has gotten caught up in work and physical fitness has fallen off her priority list. She says, “I hate to admit that I have not walked in an event like this in at least a decade…I am long overdue to get out there and move something.”
Judi is being smart about it too. Though she would love to just start running, she is taking it slow. “I have started walking during lunch to get my body prepared for it. I am excited about getting out there and walking/jogging with my friends from work. I think we are going to have a great time together during this event.”
