The Neurosurgeons of New Jersey recently attended the prestigious Society of University Neurosurgeons (SUN) annual meeting held from July 1st to July 6th, 2024, in the beautiful city of Adelaide, Australia. This gathering of leading neurosurgeons from around the world provided an excellent platform for knowledge exchange, networking, and showcasing the latest advancements in neurosurgery.

Our distinguished team included Dr. Richard Anderson, the incoming president of SUN, Dr. Michael Kaiser, the Secretary/Treasurer and meeting coordinator, and Dr. David Estin. Dr. David Estin’s Innovative Spine Surgery Presentation

Dr. David Estin presented his groundbreaking work on “Multilevel prone lateral lumbar decompression and fusion with total navigation and ureteral marking.” His approach to lumbar decompression and fusion showcased the potential of advanced navigation techniques in improving surgical precision and patient safety. Dr. Estin’s presentation was met with great interest and enthusiasm, reflecting the importance of his research in the neurosurgical community.

Dr. Richard Anderson’s Key Presentation on Pediatric Spinal Deformity Surgery

Dr. Richard Anderson delivered an insightful presentation on the “Timing of intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring (IOM) recovery and clinical recovery after termination of pediatric spinal deformity surgery due to loss of IONM signals.” His research highlighted crucial aspects of pediatric spinal deformity surgery and the importance of timely intraoperative monitoring to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
