Meet Rosie, Dr. Anderson’s patient
No parent wants to get the news that their child has a serious medical condition.
After an MRI revealed a mass in Rosie’s brain, her mom and dad knew they would need an excellent hospital and a skilled surgeon. When they met with Dr. Richard Anderson at the Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital of New York, he told them, “I will do everything I can to give you back your Rosie.” Rosie’s parents knew immediately they were in the right place, with the right doctor.
“The thought that I was going to have brain surgery was crazy,” Rosie says. Dr. Anderson knew just how to address one of the young girl’s fears. The first time Rosie met him, she says he smiled and said, “Hi, I’m Dr. Anderson. And don’t worry; I’m not going to shave all your hair off.”
