Dr. Anthony D’Ambrosio, from the Columbia Neurosurgery Network — NJ, was once again asked to speak about his profession at The Valley Hospital.
The talk, titled Neurosurgery 101, was designed to give prospective medical students in insider’s look at a week in the life of a Neurosurgeon. Dr. D’Ambrosio took the students through brain surgery, an emergency brain hemorrhage, and a day in the office.
He described the anatomy, physiology, and treatment philosophy behind brain tumor surgery, hydrocephalus, and cerebral aneurysms. The students asked thoughtful questions about applying to medical school, neurosurgical residency training, and the future of healthcare in America.
