Dr. Richard Anderson is co-author* of an important paper that aims to improve the care of children who undergo complex spinal surgery.
“We had a collaborative meeting among pediatric spine surgeons where we reviewed the literature and practice patterns to develop a consensus on how to work together to prevent infections in children undergoing spinal surgery,” said Dr. Anderson.
The result was a paper, Building consensus: development of a Best Practice Guideline (BPG) for surgical site infection (SSI) prevention in high-risk pediatric spine surgery, published recently in the Journal of Pediatric Orthopedics. Read an abstract of the paper online here.
Dr. Anderson is well known for his expertise in the treatment of pediatric spinal disorders. He has advanced clinical training, and he has written and lectured extensively on the subject.
