Dr. Dorothea Altschul has just received a large grant from the Max Kade Foundation for outcome research on neurological patients at The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, New Jersey.
“I am beyond thrilled,” says Dr. Altschul. “This incredibly generous grant gives us a real opportunity to study how well our patients do at the Valley Hospital. It goes a long way to support our commitment to neuroscience and a continual improvement in patient care. I couldn’t be more grateful.”
The Max Kade Foundation has given $80,000 to the Valley Hospital Foundation so that Dr. Altschul can complete an extensive survey of the outcomes of all neuro-interventional procedures performed at the Valley Hospital during a 90 day period.
Dr. Altschul is an interventional neurologist with a focus on acute neurological diseases such as acute strokes, cerebral (brain) aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations, atherosclerosis, and brain hemorrhage.
To treat these diseases and more, she uses minimally invasive neuro-interventional procedures including: angiograms, vascular embolizations, coiling procedures, intracranial angioplasty/stenting, carotid angioplasty/stenting, tumor embolizations, and acute stroke procedures.
