Dr. Ahsan Sattar
We are thrilled to announce the addition of Neurointerventionalist, Dr. Ahsan Sattar, to our Neurosurgeons of New Jersey – Livingston practice.
Dr. Sattar joins us from Michigan State University, where he performed a large volume of neuroendovascular procedures such as aneurysm repairs, carotid revascularizations, stroke thrombectomies, and diagnostic cerebral angiograms. He was also active in teaching residents and training fellows in both stroke and neurointerventions.
After graduating from the Aga Khan University, Dr. Sattar completed his residency training in Neurology at the University of Wisconsin. He later joined the Medical College of Wisconsin, where he completed his fellowship training in Endovascular Surgical Neuroradiology and Stroke. This training included treating patients with stroke, brain aneurysms, carotid stenosis, arteriovenous malformations of the brain / spine and understanding unique minimal invasive way of treating brain vascular pathologies. Some of the procedures that Dr. Sattar mastered during his fellowship are aneurysm embolization with coils and the technique of repairing large brain aneurysm utilizing a flow-diverter to reconstruct the neck of the aneurysm, tumor embolization, carotid artery stenting, intra-cranial stenting for atherosclerosis, inferior petrosal sinus sampling for Cushings disease, arteriovenous malformation embolization, venous stenting for pseudotumor cerebri patients, and dural arteriovenous fistula embolization.
Dr. Sattar will be bringing his depth of experience to our clinic in Livingston, New Jersey. Other neurosurgeons that are active physicians of the Neurosurgeons of New Jersey / Columbia University Physician Network such as Dr. Gigante, Dr. Bassani, Dr. Anderson, Dr. Moise and Dr. D’Ambrosio will also continue to maintain the high standard of care that our patients have come to expect from our practice. From his home base at Livingston, Dr. Sattar will be serving the areas of Short Hills, Millburn, Maplewood, West Orange, Florham Park, Morristown, and many other communities in the Essex County region.
Dr. Sattar accepts multiple different types of insurance including Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, United Healthcare Empire, United Healthcare/Oxford, workers compensation, and welcomes new and returning patients at our office located at 200 South Orange Avenue, Suite 265, Livingston, New Jersey.
