There are few activities that pediatric neurosurgeon, Dr. Richard Anderson enjoys more than educating kids. He was delighted, therefore, when he recently got to spend part of a day mentoring a group at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey.
Four inquisitive elementary and high school students shadowed Dr. Anderson during a Meet the Doctor activity arranged by their teacher, Stefanie Giddens.
“Your valuable time spent with the children made them feel special and was a memorable experience for them,” said Ms. Giddens in an email. “I know your free time is scarce and precious… I’m so grateful and thankful for the generous amount of time that you gave us.”

Dr. Richard Anderson is Assistant Professor of Neurological Surgery and part of the Pediatric Neurosurgery Center at Columbia University Medical Center/New York Presbyterian Hospital.
